for everyone
January 12 is the Heroes-Pirates bowling and I needed to bring my average up so I asked a few friends to join me in some bowling practice.  At around 7pm onwards I knocked over some pins with Beej, Hec, and much later, NickShey was supposed to join us.  Unfortunately, familial obligations called her away at the last minute.

Sadly, the printer of SM Bowling was not working so we weren't able to get printouts of our games.  Silly me, I had a camera in my bag it didn't occur to me to take photos of the scores.  Shows to go that I don't really get to play shutterbug, mostly 'cause I don't usually have a camera, hehehe.  I'm sure if Nick were there early, it would have occured to him.   Next time, I will make sure to shoot photos of the scores, at least, if not the players, hehehe.

In 5 successive games my personal scores were:
  • 72 (Hec won)
  • 113 (I won.  I think this was the game where I got a bunch of spares and 1 strike.)
  • 85 (Beej won)
  • 79 (Beej won again, this was a low scoring game for all of us.  Weird, no one even reached a 100.)
  • 101 (I won again, yey!  I was lucky enough to get a strike in and a spare on my last frame.)
Both Hec and Beej managed to get at least 2 strikes each, per game.  At the first game Hec even got 3 strikes, woah!  I think I got a strike once.  Oftentimes the best I could do was a spare.  My average is higher, at least ... now if only I can be consistent and play the same or better on the 12th, hehehe.  Methinks more practice is in order, hehehe.

Photo was taken during the practice game before New Year when Erika was with us.  That was a low scoring pair of games for me.

You'll look good, at the very least, hehehe.
I have class MWF evenings but if you want to get some practice games on Tuesday or Thursday (I'm available all day) just let me know. I'm game for some practice, hehehe.

I don't know about practice, can I be taught to bowl, that's the thing :-) sure Penny, let's go tentative the 8th?

Sure! I'll mark it down on my calendar. Just let me know for sure on or before the 8th. Let me know what time and where. It's cheaper at SM but I like the lanes at Paeng's too.

Where on the 8th? The navy needs to get in some gunnery practice too owing to their inability to hit anything that's further than pistol-shot-range (ie. right beside us).

Easiest is mega but I will wait for Karen's preference. I'll bowl anywhere so long as it's inexpensive, hehehe

Pwede kaya Eastwood?

Should be 80 to 100 per person per game on a weekday.

That's kinda far for me. Commuter po. But so long as someone shows me exactly where at eastwood it is (last time I was there was at Fete dela Musique 2 or 3 years ago) I guess I can make the trip. I will just have to leave the house early to allow for traffic and getting lost, hehehe.

Does anyone know how to commute there? I'd rather not take a cab if I can help it since I won't have a choice but to take a cab going home.
Do I come from Cubao or do I go to Ortigas center and take an FX or jeep from there?

There's a jeep from Cubao (Ali Mall) that can take you there. Sign board should say Libis or Rosario. You'll get off right across Citibank. ;-)

Sure! As far as I know we are playing again tomorrow. I just don't know what time yet. I think I will find out tonight. Hope you can join us.

Yes, but the walk is kinda far for you since you'll be from Kamuning. The jeep runs through that entire stretch from Ali Mall to what used to be COD. Your choice of rides would say Libis, Rosario, St. Joseph or Ever. If commuting at rush hour, it gets filled easily so be careful.

Another route for you can be:
Take the MRT to Galleria. Ride the Jeep going to Rosario or Life Homes, go down at I.P.I. (that's the intersection of C5 and Ortigas after Tiendesitas marked by the fly-over). Cross Ortigas and take a jeep going to Cubao. Their signs usually indicate Citibank too. That jeep will let you off at the right side of the road.

Have fun at the games! Sorry the student can't join you.
