for everyone
I had a ginormous toothache last Friday but I couldn't isolate which tooth it was that hurt.  I called my dentist and asked if I could go and visit her but she was only free at 6pm, at which time I had to be in Makati for my class.  I was prescribed anitbiotics and painkillers good for 5 days.

Unfortunately, despite the meds the pain didn't really disappear, it just came in waves and I haven't had a decent night's sleep in days and ... the right side of my face has started to swell.  The pain has become unbearable so I asked my dentist if I could visit her today.  I suspected that I would get a root canal treatment as soon as I got to the clinic.  The good news is ... I finally isolated the tooth that was infected.

True enough, as soon as it was my turn on the chair Marife told me that we would need to do a root canal treatment to get the pus to drain.  It took a while.  The tooth hurt so much that despite getting the usual dosage of anesthesia it still hurt.  I had to get dosed several more times before the anesthetic took effect.

My activities are limited for now.  To prevent swelling I have to limit my physical activities and not lift anything heavy ... I guess that means I'm taking a sabbatical on bowling.  Hope I can get back into the swing of things in a week.

Ineffective ata talaga yung anesthesia kapag may pamamaga talaga most esp. if may pus na. One time kasi, while nagpapalinis ako ng teeth, yan sinabi ng Dentist ko, pinauwi yung bata, balik na lang daw kapag di na namamaga...

Good thing nakaraos ka na. Anyhoo, i recommend you take the Doc's advise, take it easy for the meantime.

And get well soon!

Why is it always a root canal? Wishing you well, Penn. I'll join you one of these weekends.

Dude, first Rej's pus story and now this.

But man, toothaches are one of the hardest things to deal with!

Hope the ache has some how subsided by the time you read this.

I remember a boyfriend of mine with a major toothache on New Year's Day--no dentist open! I mean there is only so much Ponstan can do.

And to think, I was already on antibiotics and painkillers and nothing. I think the only thing it did was keep my brain from exploding because, the swelling and pain definitely never went away. The right side of my face is still swollen but at least it is subsiding. No bowling for me today. Waaah! No wonder my game has been declining.

It's all about the pus, hehehe.
If there is one type of ache that will bring down the toughest of men (or women) it's got to be a toothache.
I still look fat on my right cheek but it is subsiding some.
