Blog EntryFill me with memories ...Feb 22, '08 11:00 PM
for everyone
I'm not normally one to do these things but ... I first saw this on Erika's site and I think it is a wonderful idea.  I am hoping that most of you will take the time to post something.

If you read this journal,
even if I don't speak to you often,
post a memory of me.

It can be anything you want.
It can be good or bad,
just so long as it happened.

Then post this on your journal too!
Be surprised (or not)
about what people remember about you.

My first memory of you nalang Penny--it was at NU107 and we were on Atta Girl's "Meet the Geeks" show, we weren't introduced because you just came from your class. You had all these stories about Paolo and Gene being named after Rodenberry and I was getting amused but the kicker was: you taught Kalimasada! And at that time it was on a roofdeck. Whoa. Then after that it was of you in tight jeans at the NWA meets for the 2006 con. And then driving you and Ranulf back to the North after one of those meetings at Brash. Tapos Big Sky punta ko and you said, next time nalang baka I might see someone I don't want to see, maybe I should have tempted you with a mudslide. Go Kalimasada and go tight jeans! And pare, your mom rocks for taking over your class.

Thanks for the rumballs by the way!

I think it was the first week of January 2006: that was the time when you came over at my client site (NKTI), we had coffee and a very serious talk. I need not go down into details but suffice to say, that talk really meant a lot for me.

NU night - I remember that night. It was fun and I was late, hehehe.
TK - Yeah, well, I still teach it, hehe. So does my mom and my dad.
Tight jeans - I can't fathom why you remembered the jeans. Hmmm ...
Big Sky - Well, I did say I had an early class the following day so, I had to stay sober and go to bed early. Tempt me with a mudslide, and I may just go with you. :D
Rum balls - My pleasure!

That was one intense talk. And to think my sister-in-law was upstairs recovering from surgery (gall bladder stones) otherwise, I don't think I would have been there at all. It was fate.

I remember the first time i was linked to your site was when i was searching for "salsa" then i saw in your i.ph site that you're Gelli's friend! so i was like "woah!" then i was searching again for something (i forgot what it was) but i was again linked to your site! then i told myself, "next time, i should just go to Penny's site directly coz for sure il find something in there, its like your site's got it all eh!" hehe! then, the first time we met was at Kopiroti Morato, to get the tickets for ZZZ show. hehe! you were reading then when Jamine and I came. it was our first meeting but you were so makwento na agad and since then i found you so smart and very interesting. I remember even answering one "survey for my blog" and the question was "Who is the smartest person you know?" then i answered "Penny!" :-)

Awww, that's sweet! And very unexpected. Thank you so much for the compliment.

I still have a picture. You're hugging a friend in that shot, and I remember thinking how lucky I was to be taking it. I was in the company of very good friends back then. There was that one taxi ride which told you everything you needed to know. (Boy did I walk into that one.) :)

I'll pick something more recent: catching up; watching the Justice League movie on your laptop and your picking out which voice belonged to David Boreanaz; 3 p.m. lunch; listening with your mom and dad to Jun Lozada give his testimony. And some days later, muffins. I remember you assuring me that there's a place for me when I'm ready to come back to training.

You're a gem, Penn.

Regarding "the girl" - my suggestion to you is please MOVE ON. There is some out there for you and obviously she isn't the one for you. There's a book I feel you really need to read, just change gender. The hard truths are the same, whether "the other" is male or female. It may help you move on.

Regarding Kalimasada - when you're ready, Dex. When you're ready.

Hey, you asked for a memory. I've had so many of them with the two of you.

That I remember her fondly does not mean I'm looking to reconnect beyond the level we already have, Penn. To say I don't give a rat's behind what happens to her would of course be a big fat lie. But we've talked about it before and we've talked about it before. We're just friends. Our book is closed.

But thanks for the concern. :)

I'm glad to hear you say now that you've moved on. I hope this really means that you have because last time we spoke it didn't seem that you have. You seem to still be pining and I don't like seeing any of my friends suffering or in pain.

Btw, you look so much better now.

One thing that I know about you and never forget is how kind, selfless and sweet you are to your family and relatives and to me :) you were always there for me and that I could never forget. I also remember how you confronted our swimming coach for scaring us to death during our summer classes. You loved reading books, Transformers, StarWars, playing video games and also you love telling me stories about you when you were younger.

hmm... the earliest I can think of is the radio guesting for NW4... afterwards, you, me, jon and Carl went to Butter Diner... then I found out both you and jon have kids and that you two spend one day a month just to have lunch some place exotic or someplace both of you wants to try out or someplace one wants the other to try, IIRC...
i distinctly remember this line: "let's get some things straight. we eat together. we don't eat off of each other."
then I knew i'm in good company - freshman to all these craziness back then...

I remember you asking us, "Let me get this straight, you guys are married, not to each other, but you date, right?" And we laughed and told you that we didn't "date" we just had lunch. You see, that's what friends do. Among other things, they share meals.

Hey, btw, as movie dates go, I would have to say, you are one of my favorites because ... you know when to talk and when not to talk when watching a movie. And when you do talk, you know enough to lower your voice so the people in the third row are not privy to our conversation. So, when's our next movie date?

Hate to tell you this cuz but ... it seems you don't know me as well as you thought you did. I love Star TREK, not Star Wars. Trust me, there's a BIG difference. Also, I was never really big into video games ... that was Gigi and Tina.
