for everyone
Category:Other
I just watched the pilot of Knight Rider (2008) with my sister while having dinner. I don't know if you will agree with me but ... I LOVED IT.

To begin with , just so you know ... the Michael/KITT relationship continues ... but with a different Michael and a different KITT. Instead of simply revamping on the old series, what they have done is to, in effect, continue from where the old series left off, but 25 years later. In other words, there was an effort at continuity. There was no mention of what happened to the old KITT. I guess I will have to find episodes of the old series to find out. I hope he is still alive.

Yes, folks, before you ask, David Hasselhoff appears towards the end of the episode when he introduces himself to Mike (Traceur) and passes on the legacy. I hope he appears a few more times within the season.
Where Michael Knight and KITT fought crime all over the U.S. and Mexico (basically anyplace they could drive to), Mike Traceur and KITT are going global. Their first official assignment: Prague, Czech Republic.
Instead of Devon Miles we have Charles Graiman who supposedly came up with the technology that made KITT. I don't think they ever mentioned a Charles Graiman in the old series. But then, I was a little girl when I used to watch Knight Rider so it is possible I just don't remember it. I do remember the guy who financed the project, Wilton Knight.
Instead of April or Bonnie we now have Sarah Graiman (played by Deanna Russo) who is the daughter of Charles Graiman and a scientist herself in the same field as her father and Dylan Fass (played by Wayne Kasserman) as the mechanic.
The new Knight Rider also has the addition of an FBI agent named Carrie Ravai (played by Sydney Tamiia Poitier) who is a friend of Charles Graiman. Yes, she IS the daughter of THE Sidney Poitier, the Oscar Award Winner.

There are similarities and differences between the old KITT and the new KITT.
Knight Industries TWO Thousand Knight Industries THREE Thousand
Make and Model Black Pontiac Firebird Trans Am with artificial intelligence
He has 1 (one) swivelling red eye
Starts off as a black Ford Mustang Cobra, then becomes a white Mustang GT, then later becomes violet. I think this KITT can change color and Ford Mustang model as needed. Yes, he also has artificial intelligence
Has 2 (two) swivelling red eyes
Voice William Daniels Val Kilmer - he is soooo sexy! *drool!*
Bulletproof armored body and bulletproof windows has a force field which only works when the computer is on. Otherwise, it is a regular car.
Repair When he gets damaged (which isn't often) he has April (and later Bonnie) to take care of him) So long as the computer is turned on, nanotechnology allows KITT to repair himself.
Driving
self-drive with option for manual driving by driver
Driver Michael Knight (originally Michael Arthur Long, formerly a police officer) played by David Hasselhoff Michael Traceur (son of Michael Knight, but he didn't know his father or OF his father until later. He thought that his father abandoned him and his mom, Jessie, when he was a baby.), former Army Ranger played by Justin Breuning
Mobile Office / Repair Facility 18 wheeler truck airplane
Nemesis Goliath and KARR too soon to tell

It is possibly the nostalgia factor, but I still think this is a good show, and I would recommend it.

I remember Michael Long was played by a different actor. Supposedly because of injuries in the line of duty and an interest by the founder of the Knight Foundation, he was given a new face and identity (now played by Hasselhoff and re-named Michael Knight).

Yup. They used the plastic surgery to explain the change of actor.

You know what I liked? The effects and the technology, hehehe. I was watching out for the stuff they updated from the old KITT. Download it from http://eztv.it. I got it in less than 2 hours.

Thanks, is it downloadable from there directly or thru torrent pa rin 'to?

Bonnie Barstow was KITT's technician then they replaced her with April Curtis in Season 2. Then the viewers made a fuss (I did too!) and they brought back Bonnie.

What if Michael Knight were to find himself driving on the new KITT (Knight Industries THREE THOUSAND - voiced by Val Kilmer)?

Will they be singing? LOL

Yehey! got it at last!

Sino nga ulit yung kontrabida pa sa original na portrayed din ni David-H, kaso naka-goatee lang. Knight din apelyido nun eh, parang black sheep ng Knight family...

Masyado namang advanced, when they named it Knight Industries Two Thousand, di man lang umabot yung TV series ng year 2000 (1982-1986 lang). So dapat medyo isakto na sila. KITT pa rin kasi kapag Knight Industries Three Thousand eh.

Knight Industries Two Thousand Ten na lang sana para "KITTen", LOL!!!

I totally agree. I think they brought April in for eye candy but she didn't like she really knew the job. Unlike Bonnie who was pretty AND actually looked like she knew how to repair or upgrade KITT.

You know, when I saw KITT in this episode zooming down the highway what actually entered my head was The Dukes of Hazard, hehehe.

I feel so bad that I'm in so much the other side of the coin on this one.
I really really did not like it.
Glad you did though.

Don't feel bad. It's good to have dissenting opinions. That means we are thinking creatures, hehehe.
Besides, I have low expectations. Like I said above, I think it is more of the nostalgia factor for me.
I still like it, even after watching it again.

Btw, since I watched it again i noticed this time that the first KITT has definitely been decommissioned. I saw his parts in the garage of Graiman at the beginning of the episode.

Akk! I couldn't endorse that. I actually tried to give it a shot, really. I watched 3 episodes and it left a really bad taste in my mouth from episode 1. I didn't like a single thing about it ... at all!

It was like deja vu...when KITT helped Sarah out of the library by phone to evade the thugs...I suddenly remembered the Val Kilmer movie "The Saint".

I love that movie, edge-of-seat suspen pare...
